Global Recycling Day: How “The Nucleus” Leads in Sustainable Building Practices
On March 18, we mark Global Recycling Day — a day to recognize and promote the importance of recycling for a sustainable future. At Beddeleem, we have been committed to sustainability for over 30 years, focusing on the assembly and disassembly of modular and movable partitions.
With our expertise and extensive stock of 'REuse' products, Beddeleem can quickly meet the rising demand for circular solutions. Our REuse range includes partitions and doors repurposed through Urban Mining from renovation and demolition projects.
A nice example is the upcoming project "The Nucleus" (Tech Lane Park) in Zwijnaarde, a 5-story building, covering a total area of 13,100m².
This workspace will host offices, laboratories, clean rooms, and social areas like a restaurant, meeting rooms, conference spaces, etc.
The project is a collaboration between POM Oost-Vlaanderen, PMV, UGent and Sogent.
Partners:
- Algemene Bouw Maes - Contractor
- EVR - Architects
- VK Parts Sweco - Stability and technics
- Cegelec-ITB - Technics
For this durable building, Beddeleem will deliver and install over 1000m² of JB 2000 partitions sourced from our REuse inventory. The solid panels will be re-sawed and re-edged at our production sites in Nazareth-De Pinte. We’re also proud to contribute 900m² of raised flooring, entirely made from reused materials.
This project not only showcases our commitment to circularity, but also meets sustainability certifications such as FSC/PEFC and BREEAM. 🌱
