Eurostation

At the end of 2018, the political asylum services moved out of the WTC-II building near Brussels North Station. They moved into 3 other locations, 2 of which were renovated in a very short timescale in 2018 by Beddeleem nv.

The registration desk is now at the Klein Kasteeltje or Petit Château. In the Pachéco building near the Finance Ministry's office tower, asylum seekers are invited for an initial interview. For the in-depth interview, they are invited to the Eurostation building at Brussels South station.

Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons

This building was partly renovated in the same period by the Belgian Buildings Agency. The building is divided into several blocks, which are used by different institutions. The OCGRSP uses a number of storeys in blocks C, D and E of the building.

Main contractor

Here too, Beddeleem was the main contractor for the renovation of all the finishing, including upgrading of the technical facilities. Besides the JB 2000 solid partition and the JB 4000 glass partition, the JB FIREGLASS fire-retardant glass partition was also used. The new way of working is also applied here, which means that a large number of lockers also had to be provided. Doors, interior joinery and new solid walls were fitted here too.

Ground floor

On the ground floor, reception counters, waiting rooms and upgraded amenities have been provided. There are also security doors, offices and meeting rooms were also laid out. Part of the ground floor was completely refurbished: demolition works, new masonry walls, subfloor and tiling, suspended ceilings, ...

Upper floors

The walls were removed so that the offices could be altered to reflect the principle of the new way of working. The false floors were given a new finish, carpet or PVC floor-covering. During the renovation, the needs of potential tenants were already taken into account, so that not many alterations will be necessary in future.

Partitions were installed in block C to accommodate a large number of interview rooms.
