Client testimonial 'Engie'

Katrien Depoorter (Engie – LODGE.co) about the collaboration with Beddeleem: "High level of finish for our co-working project"

The co-working space LODGE.co is located in the office buildings of the Engie Group, in the Engie Kievit Tower in Antwerp. Working, learning, meeting people and holding meetings: it all happens at LODGE.co in a pleasant and homely atmosphere. Open-plan workspaces, enclosed offices, meeting rooms, an auditorium ... LODGE.co offers it all with the necessary supporting services.

Katrien Depoorter is the overall coordinator of this startup within ENGIE. After working for over 10 years as a Project and Space Manager at Engie, she decided to join the ambitious project that is LODGE.co.

"With LODGE.co, we were launching a new concept for Engie, i.e.  ‘Building As A Service’. We developed a co-working space of 900 m² in the Kievit Tower with around 60 workspaces, both for internal use by Engie, and for external use. We wanted to optimize the use of the office space that had been released, and open it up to professionals from outside. After Antwerp, we will be setting up a similar project in Brussels, but this time it will be 2000 m²."

"We want our tenants to feel at home straightaway in a real homely atmosphere, not in surroundings that are just trendy. The people are always convinced as soon as they walk in,' Katrien Depoorter explains.

Dismantling, walls and doors

Katrien called Beddeleem in for the dismantling of this project and the installation of the partitions and doors in 2018.

"Beddeleem applied a very high level of finishing. The JB2000 solid wood system wall, the wall cladding with acoustic insulation, the JB WINDOW wooden window frames, the JB DOOR wooden doors and the curved plasterboard partitions: the quality and the finish were excellent. The partitions, windows and doors were made to measure based on the wishes of the 'Out of Office' architects' practice.

Beddeleem: "The project was implemented in two phases. In the first phase, we started with the dismantling/demolition, which meant we could immediately start the preparatory work on the technical facilities. Meanwhile, we discussed the details of implementation at site meetings with the customer and the architect. Then we started on phase 2, which was the rebuilding: the installation of the plasterboard partitions, ceilings, skirting, painting and wallpapering, carpet fitting, alteration of existing ceilings, ... Finally, our made-to-measure wooden walls/doors were installed."

Quality

"In the tender, not only did Beddeleem put in the best price, but they also provide top quality. I have worked a lot with Beddeleem, and it is always pleasant and convenient," Katrien Depoorter concludes.
