Location : Mol
Year of completion : 2026
For the new VITO Earth building, Beddeleem manufactured and installed JB PURE 100, JB 4000 XL and JB FIREGLASS EI60 partitions. The project forms an integral part of an innovative research environment where knowledge sharing, collaboration and technological progress are central.
The architectural design was developed by the Temporary Partnership SVR/JVO (SVR-Architects + Architektenburo Jef Van Oevelen). During the execution phase, Beddeleem collaborated with main contractor Van Roey.
A research environment that encourages collaboration
VITO Earth was designed as a building where researchers from different disciplines can easily meet, exchange ideas and inspire one another. Transparency plays a crucial role in achieving this vision. Thanks to the extensive use of glazed JB PURE 100, JB 4000 XL and JB FIREGLASS partitions, the various laboratories and workspaces remain visually connected without compromising functionality.
According to architect Ulf Holler (SVR-Architects), this was a deliberate design choice:
"VITO Earth was designed to maximise knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation. The extensive integration of glazed partitions throughout the laboratory environment plays a key role in achieving this. It creates visual connections between researchers, increasing the opportunities for cross-fertilisation between different research projects. In addition, the abundance of natural daylight and the open sightlines throughout the building contribute to a greater sense of well-being. Together, these elements create a pleasant and safe working environment where researchers can carry out their daily precision work with maximum focus."
Technical performance and architectural quality
For this project, Beddeleem manufactured and installed several types of partitions that perfectly meet the demanding requirements of a modern research environment:
The project features full-height glazed partitions with slim, elegant aluminium profiles. Combined with a light colour palette, they create a pleasant, open and contemporary working environment.
A professional collaboration
The project was carried out in collaboration with main contractor Van Roey. Architect Ulf Holler also looks back positively on this cooperation:
"The collaboration was mainly coordinated through main contractor Van Roey. Beddeleem proved to be a professional partner that proactively contributed ideas and was always open to developing tailor-made solutions."
